Friday Favourites – Urban Fantasy

Happy Friday everyone! Friday Favourites was originally created by Kibby from Something of the Book, but is now hosted by Lorraine from Geeky Galaxy. Make sure you check out both of their blogs, and join in with your own Friday Favourites!

This week is all about Urban Fantasy books, and I’m learning that I haven’t actually read a lot of books in that genre. So here are a couple series that I have read, and below is a list of urban fantasy books (according to Goodreads) that I want to read!

The Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

Technically, I’ve only read part of this series (I know, I know!), but I do plan on reading the last two… soon. I have seen all of the movies and adore them!

The Mortal Instruments series and The Infernal Devices series
by Cassandra Clare

I read both of these series a while ago, and I loved them both and really want to reread them – except that is a LARGE commitment! I’m thinking that might be a task for next year when I’m done school.

I’m sure there at least one or two more urban fantasy books that I have read, but I cannot remember them… So here is the list of urban fantasy books that I want to read (one day!):

  • Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead
  • Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
  • Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
  • Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
  • Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor
  • A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness

Have you read any of those? Let me know your favourite in the comments, and maybe I’ll pick it up next!
