Friday Favourites – Fictional Worlds

Happy Friday everyone! Friday Favourites (I’m Canadian so I’m adding the ‘u’!) was created by the ever-so-wonderful Kibby from Something of the Book. She loves lists, so decided to start her own weekly meme! Make sure you check out her blog for more information, and join in!

This week is all about Fictional Worlds! There is no way I could list all of the amazing books that have exciting and captivating worlds, but here is a quick list of some of my favourites and a few words to describe them:

  • Daevabad in The City of Brass/The Kingdom of Copper by S.A. Chakraborty – Egypt/Egypt-inspired, magical, mesmerizing, grand, Dara.
  • The Witchlands in the Truthwitch series by Susan Dennard – magical, expansive, chaotic, Baeduan.
  • The Wizarding World in Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling – magical, exciting, entertaining.
  • The Shire/Middle Earth in Lord of the Rings/The Hobbit – magical, comforting, homely, (avoid Mordor), Aragorn.
  • Andala in Mirage by Somaiya Daud – magical, historic, awe-inspiring, Idris.

Okay, so clearly, I like magical worlds. Andddd clearly, I have several book boyfriends (I didn’t even include my main bae, Matthias Helvar)! But a girl likes what a girl likes.

What world completely captured you? Let me know in the comments!
