Year of the Asian Reading Challenge 2019 (YARC)

I recently came across this amazing-sounding reading challenge for 2019, and have officially decided to join!

The Year of the Asian Reading Challenge (YARC) was created because there are SO many amazing books out there written by Asian authors that just don’t get talked about enough. The goal is quite simple: read as many books by Asian authors as you can! These can be from any year, as long as you start and finish it in 2019. That’s it! I was planning on doing that anyway, so this is really working for me.

Make sure you are following the lovely hosts of this challenge:
Shealea | Lily | Vicky | CW

Check out anyone of their posts for the official guidelines/rules for the challenge, and for more information about prompts, link-ups, discussions, giveaways and more!

Asian Elephant

My goal is to read 50 books by Asian authors in 2019 – that’s only around 4 books per month, so it should be very reasonable.

YARC Books Read

I will be updating this list as I read books that count for this challenge. I will also link them to either a separate review on my blog or to my Goodreads review.

  1. A Crown of Wishes by Roshani ChokshiGoodreads review
  2. Mirage by Somaiya Daudreview
  3. The Unlikely Adventures of the Shergill Sisters by Balli Kaur Jaswalreview
  4. The Chai Factor by Farah Heron (arc) – review
  5. Descendant of the Crane by Joan HeGoodreads review
  6. There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menonreview
  7. Love From A to Z by S.K. Ali review
  8. A Match Made in Mehendi by Nandini Bajpai (arc) – review
  9. Girls of Paper and Fire by Natasha Nganreview
  10. Girls of Storm and Shadow by Natasha Ngan (arc) – review

I am super excited about this challenge, especially because of all of the amazing new books by Asian authors that are being released this year (I included a bunch of them in my post about 2019 releases in case you need some ideas)!

Will you be joining #YARC2019?

Thank you for reading Books and Prosecco!
